Rear-Adm. Tufton Percy Hamilton Beamish was born on 26 July 1874.1 He was the son of Rear-Adm. Henry Hamilton Beamish and Blanche Georgina Hughes.1 He married Margaret Antonia Simon, daughter of Henry Simon and Emily Stoehr, on 30 October 1914.1 He died on 2 May 1951 at age 76.1
He was educated at H.M.S. Britannia, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Fourth Ashanti War in 1896.1 He fought in the Benin Expedition in 1897.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He fought in the Battle of the Falkland Islands, during which he was the Commanding Officer of the HMS Invincible.1 He fought in the Battle of Jutland, during which he was the Commanding Officer of the HMS Cordelia.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lewes between 1924 and 1931.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lewes between 1936 and 1945.1 He was appointed Fellow, Linnean Society.1 He lived at Chelworth House, Chelworth Gate, Sussex, EnglandG.1
