Josephine Maria Bancroft was the daughter of Peter Bancroft and Georgina Chappell.1 She married, firstly, Thomas Samuel Pakenham, son of Reverand Robert Pakenham and Harriet Maria Browne, on 4 January 1858.1 She married, secondly, Captain Robert Conway Dobbs Ellis on 9 May 1866.1 She was also reported to have been married on 4 January 1859.2 She died in 1889.1

Reverand Robert Pakenham was born on 4 June 1799.2 He was the son of Admiral Hon. Sir Thomas Pakenham and Louisa Anne Staples.3 He married, firstly, Harriet Maria Browne, daughter of Rt. Hon. Denis Browne and Anne Mahon, on 30 June 1829.4 He married, secondly, Elizabeth (?) on 28 September 1865.4 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Whitelaw, daughter of Robert Whitelaw, on 6 July 1876.4 He died on 30 December 1883 at age 84.4
