     Sir George Andrew Dick-Lauder of Fountainhall, 12th Bt. was born on 17 November 1917.3 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Sir John North Dalrymple Dick-Lauder of Fountainhall, 11th Bt. and Phyllis Mary Iggulden.2 He married Hester Marguerite Sorell-Cameron, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Cecil Minett Sorell-Cameron, on 13 November 1945.3 He died on 11 August 1981 at age 63.3
     Sir George Andrew Dick-Lauder of Fountainhall, 12th Bt. was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.3 He fought in the Second World War, in Palestine, Somaliland, 52nd Middle East Commandos, Sudan, and Crete, where he became a POW.3 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Black Watch (Royal Horse Regiment).3 He was 2nd in charge of the 2nd Battalion, Black Watch between 1955 and 1956.3 He was 2nd in charge of the 11th Battalion, King's African Regiment in 1957.3 He succeeded to the title of 12th Baronet Lauder, of Fountainhall, co. Haddington [N.S., 1690] on 19 September 1958.3
