     Sir Hugh Houston Smiley, 1st Bt. was born on 5 January 1841.¹ He was the son of John Smiley and Ann Reid.² He married Elizabeth Anne Kerr, daughter of Peter Kerr, on 9 September 1874.¹ He died on 3 March 1909 at age 68.³

     Elizabeth Anne Kerr was the daughter of Peter Kerr.¹ She married Sir Hugh Houston Smiley, 1st Bt., son of John Smiley and Ann Reid, on 9 September 1874.¹ She died on 14 July 1930.¹
     From 9 September 1874, her married name became Smiley.

     Margot Love Smiley was the daughter of John Smiley and Ann Reid.¹ She married John A. Bowman.¹ She died on 1 January 1904.¹

     Peter Kerr Kerr-Smiley was born on 22 February 1879.¹ He was the son of Sir Hugh Houston Smiley, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Kerr.² He married Maud Simpson, daughter of Ernest Louis Simpson, on 5 July 1905.¹ He died on 23 June 1943 at age 64.¹
     Peter Kerr Kerr-Smiley was baptised with the name of Peter Kerr Smiley.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 21st Lancers.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Antrim between 1910 and 1922.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Major in the service of the Royal Irish Rifles.¹

     Cyril Hugh Kerr-Smiley was born on 15 April 1906.¹ He was the son of Peter Kerr Kerr-Smiley and Maud Simpson.² He married Agnes Cameron, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Cecil Minett Sorel Cameron, on 25 April 1933.¹ He died in 1980.¹

     Lt.-Col. Peter Simon Kerr-Smiley was born on 9 June 1934.¹ He is the son of Cyril Hugh Kerr-Smiley and Agnes Cameron.² He married Jennifer Guise Tucker, daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Guise Tucker, on 15 January 1960.¹ He and Jennifer Guise Tucker were divorced in 1981.¹
