     Sir Hugh Houston Smiley, 1st Bt. was born on 5 January 1841.1 He was the son of John Smiley and Ann Reid.2 He married Elizabeth Anne Kerr, daughter of Peter Kerr, on 9 September 1874.1 He died on 3 March 1909 at age 68.2
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Renfrewshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Antrim.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for County Antrim.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Antrim in 1899.1 He was created 1st Baronet Smiley, of Drumalis, Larne, co. Antrim and Gallowhill, Paisley, Renfrewshire [U.K.] on 13 October 1903.1

     Elizabeth Anne Kerr was the daughter of Peter Kerr.1 She married Sir Hugh Houston Smiley, 1st Bt., son of John Smiley and Ann Reid, on 9 September 1874.1 She died on 14 July 1930.1
     From 9 September 1874, her married name became Smiley.

Peter Kerr Kerr-Smiley1

     Peter Kerr Kerr-Smiley was born on 22 February 1879.1 He was the son of Sir Hugh Houston Smiley, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Kerr.2 He married Maud Simpson, daughter of Ernest Louis Simpson, on 5 July 1905.1 He died on 23 June 1943 at age 64.1
     He was given the name of Peter Kerr Smiley at birth.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 21st Lancers.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Antrim between 1910 and 1922.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major in the Royal Irish Rifles.1

Charles Gordon

     Charles Gordon is the son of Alexander Gordon of Pitlurg. He married Frances Strickland Lovell Oldham, daughter of Robert Pollard Oldham, on 5 July 1938.1 He and Frances Strickland Lovell Oldham were divorced in 1948.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Scottish Horse.1

     From 5 July 1905, her married name became Smiley.

     Lt.-Col. Cyril Hugh Kerr-Smiley was born on 15 April 1906.1 He was the son of Peter Kerr Kerr-Smiley and Maud Simpson.2 He married Agnes Sorel-Cameron, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Cecil Minett Sorel-Cameron and Marguerite Emily Tollemache, in 1933.2 He died on 16 May 1980 at age 74.1,3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the Suffolk Regiment.1

     Lt.-Col. George Cecil Minett Sorel-Cameron was the son of Henry Wallace Sorel-Cameron and Flora Agnes Cameron. He married Marguerite Emily Tollemache, daughter of Hon. Hamilton James Tollemache and Mabel Hanbury, on 27 September 1906.1 He died on 28 June 1947.
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Cameron Highlanders.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He lived at Gorthleck House, Gorthleck, Inverness-shire, ScotlandG.2
