     Maj.-Gen. Rowland Broughton Mainwaring was born in 1850 at Whitmore, Staffordshire, England.2 He was the son of Reverend Charles Henry Mainwaring and Jane Broughton.2 He married Evelyn Jane Archdale, daughter of Captain Mervyn Edward Archdale and Emma Inez Goulding, on 4 August 1880 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England, this marriage produced no children.1,2 He died on 22 November 1926.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers.1

     Georgina Emma Matilda Archdale was the daughter of Captain Mervyn Edward Archdale and Emma Inez Goulding.1 She married Major John Gerard Christopher Irvine on 20 December 1886, they left issue.1 She died on 14 August 1934.1
     From 20 December 1886, her married name became Irvine.1

     From 15 April 1845, her married name became Archdale.1

     Elizabeth Harwood was the daughter of Nicholas Harwood.1 She married, firstly, Captain William Wingfield Clarke.1 She married, secondly, Rt. Hon. Edward Archdale, son of Reverend Henry Montgomery Archdale and Sarah Elizabeth Blackwood-Price, on 22 January 1908, they did not have issue.1 She died on 25 April 1918.1
     Her married name became Clarke.1 From 22 January 1908, her married name became Archdale.1

Captain William Wingfield Clarke1
