     Mary Rennell Coleridge was the daughter of William Rennell Coleridge and Katherine Frances Barton.2 She married Colonel Sir Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton-Jodrell, son of Rt. Rev. George Edward Lynch Cotton and Sophia Ann Tomkinson, on 24 April 1878.1 She died on 18 April 1932.1
      From 24 April 1878, her married name became Cotton. She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.1

Colonel Sir Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton-Jodrell1

     Colonel Sir Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton-Jodrell was born on 29 June 1847.2 He was the son of Rt. Rev. George Edward Lynch Cotton and Sophia Ann Tomkinson.2 He married Mary Rennell Coleridge, daughter of William Rennell Coleridge and Katherine Frances Barton, on 24 April 1878.2 He died on 13 October 1917 at age 70.2
     He was given the name of Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton at birth.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Hon. Colonel in the service of the Cheshire Royal Engineers (Railway Battalion).2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wirral between 1885 and 1900.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cheshire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Territorial Forces.2 In 1890 his name was legally changed to Edward Thomas Davenant Cotton-Jodrell by Royal Licence.2 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.).2 He lived at Shallcross, Cheshire, England.2 He lived at Yeardsley and Reaseheath, Nantwich, Cheshire, England.2
