Major William Duke Coleridge, 5th Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary was born on 18 June 1937.1 He is the son of Captain Richard Duke Coleridge, 4th Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary and Cecilia Rosamund Fisher.2 He married, firstly, Everild Tania Hambrough, daughter of Lt.-Col. Beauchamp Hambrough, on 17 February 1962.1 He and Everild Tania Hambrough were divorced in 1977.1 He married, secondly, Pamela Baker, daughter of George William Baker, in 1977.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1961 and 1963 in the service of the Kenyan Army.1 He was commander of the Guards Independent Parachute Company between 1970 and 1972.1 He was Governor of the Royal West of England School for the Deaf.1 He retired from the military in 1977, with the rank of Major, late of the Coldstream Guards.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baron Coleridge of Ottery St. Mary, co. Devon [U.K., 1874] in 1984.1 He lived in 2003 at The Chanter's House, Ottery St. Mary, Devon, England.1
