     Lt.-Gen. Sir William Henry Clinton was born on 23 December 1769.3 He was the son of Sir Henry Clinton and Harriet Carter.2 He married Hon. Louisa Dorothea Holroyd, daughter of John Baker Holroyd, 1st Earl of Sheffield and Abigail Way, on 14 March 1797.1 He died on 15 February 1846 at age 76.3
     Lt.-Gen. Sir William Henry Clinton gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 55th Foot.3 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).1 He was Lieutenant-Governor of Chelsea Hospital.4
