     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Lovat Scouts.4 He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).4 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).4 He lived at Leygore Manor, Northleach, Gloucestershire, England.4
