     Lt.-Col. James Hayton Greenhill Black was the son of Robert Greenhill Black of Ardmay.1 He married Gladys Mabel Lowther, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Gerald Augustus Lowther, 1st Bt. and Alice Blight, on 14 February 1942.1 He died on 23 December 1966.1
     Lt.-Col. James Hayton Greenhill Black lived at Ardmay, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.1

     Baron Jacques Thenard was the son of Baron unknown Thenard. He married Edith Alice Cecilia Lowther, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Gerald Augustus Lowther, 1st Bt. and Alice Blight, on 30 October 1933. He died in May 1940, killed in action.
     Baron Jacques Thenard fought in the Second World War.
