     Sir William Sherbrooke Ramsey Norcott was born on 12 December 1804 at Chelmsford, Essex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of General Sir Amos Godsell Robert Norcott and Elizabeth Noble.1 He married Frances Marrianne Durant, daughter of George S. E. Durant and Lucinda (?).1 He died on 23 January 1886 at age 81 at St. Leonard's-on-Sea, Sussex, EnglandG.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade.2 He fought in the Crimean War.1 He held the office of Lieutenant Governor of Jersey in 1873.1
     He had six other children.1
