     William de Clinton, 4th Lord Clinton was born circa 1378.1 He was the son of Sir William Clinton and Elizabeth Deincourt.2 He married, firstly, Anne Trivett, daughter of Sir Thomas Trivett and Elizabeth de Limbury.1 He married, secondly, Alice de Botreaux, daughter of William de Botreaux, 2nd Lord Botreaux and Elizabeth St. Lo, between 13 August 1409 and November 1409.1 He married, thirdly, Mary (?).1 He died on 30 July 1431.1 He was also reported to have died on 20 August 1431.1
     He succeeded to the title of 4th Lord Clinton [E., 1299] on 8 September 1398.1 In 1399 on the death of his cousin he succeeded to part of the Say lands in right of his grandmother and styled himself Lord Say.1
