     Richmond Makepeace Thackeray was born in August 1781 at South Mimms, Middlesex, England.3 He was the son of William Makepeace Thackeray and Amelia Richmond Webb.2 He was baptised on 1 September 1781.2 He married Anne Becher, daughter of John Harman Becher and Harriet Cowper, on 13 October 1810 at India.1,4 He died on 13 September 1815 at age 34.4
     Richmond Makepeace Thackeray was in the Honourable East India Company Service.4

     William Makepeace Thackeray was born on 18 July 1811 at Alipur, Calcutta, India.1 He was the son of Richmond Makepeace Thackeray and Anne Becher.1 He married Isabella Gethen Creagh Shawe, daughter of Colonel Matthew Shawe, in 1837 at Paris, France.3 He died on 24 December 1863 at age 52.1
     William Makepeace Thackeray wrote the book Vanity Fair.1
