     Catherine Conolly was born on 20 October 1871.⁴ She was the daughter of Thomas Conolly and Sarah Elizabeth Shaw.^2,3 She married Gerald Shapland Carew, 5th Baron Carew, son of Hon. Shapland Francis Carew and Lady Hester Georgiana Browne, on 21 April 1904.¹ She died on 20 March 1947 at age 75.¹
     From 21 April 1904, her married name became Carew. As a result of her marriage, Catherine Conolly was styled as Baroness Carew on 21 April 1926.

Gavin George Carew was born on 21 September 1906.³ He was the son of Gerald Shapland Carew, 5th Baron Carew and Catherine Conolly.² He married Aileen Hilda Frances Cecil, daughter of Ean Francis Cecil and Hilda Mary Daubeny Wemyss, on 30 April 1932.³ He died on 11 October 1997 at age 91.³
     Major Hon. Gavin George Carew was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.³ He fought in the Second World War, in the Western Desert, Italy, Belgium and Germany, and was mentioned in depstaches.³ He was decorated with the award of U.S. Legion of Merit.³ He gained the rank of Major in the service of the County of London Yeomanry.³ He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.³ He was decorated with the award of Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1956.³
