     Clare Joanna de Poulton Ferguson was born on 12 October 1968.3 She is the daughter of Brigadier John Gordon Goddard de Poulton Ferguson and Celia Mary Herdman.2,3 She married Rupert Sherman John Cotterell, son of Jonathan Julian Cotterell and Hon. Harriet Pauline Sophia Stonor, on 18 May 2002.1
     From 18 May 2002, her married name became Cotterell.
