     Robert Vere Buxton was born in 1883.1 He was the son of Francis William Buxton and Hon. Mary Emma Lawrence.2 He married Irene Marguerite Pix, daughter of J. H. C. Pix, on 31 August 1916.1 He died on 1 October 1953, without issue.1
     Robert Vere Buxton graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was in the Sudan Civil Service between 1907 and 1911.1 He was decorated with the Order of the Nile.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the West Kent Yeomanry.1 He was Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd Battalion, Imperial Camel Corps.1 He was decorated with the Order of the Crown of Italy.1 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1

     Irene Marguerite Pix is the daughter of J. H. C. Pix.2 She married, firstly, Sir Richard William Levinge, 10th Bt. before 1916.1 She married, secondly, Robert Vere Buxton, son of Francis William Buxton and Hon. Mary Emma Lawrence, on 31 August 1916.1
     From before 1916, her married name became Levinge.1 From 31 August 1916, her married name became Buxton.
