     Richard Butler, 3rd Viscount Mountgaret married Margaret O'Neill, daughter of Hugh O'Neill, 3rd Earl of Tyrone and unknown O'Neill, in 1596.²
     He gained the title of 3rd Viscount Mountgarret. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
     

     Margaret O'Neill is the daughter of Hugh O'Neill, 3rd Earl of Tyrone and unknown O'Neill.^1,2 She married Richard Butler, 3rd Viscount Mountgaret in 1596.³ She died on 16 December 1655.³
      From 1596, her married name became Butler.¹

     Sir Richard Butler, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Walter Butler, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Butler.¹ He married Elizabeth (?).¹ He died in 1679/80 at Germany.¹ His will (dated 16 Novemeber 1678) was probated on 20 January 1680 at Ireland.¹
     He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Butler, of Poulstoun, co. Kilkenny [I., 1645] circa 1650.¹ He lived at Polestown, Gowran, County Kilkenny, Ireland.²

     Elizabeth (?) married, firstly, Sir Richard Butler, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Walter Butler, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Butler.¹ She married, secondly, Theobald Denn circa 1684.¹
      Her married name became Butler.¹ From circa 1684, her married name became Denn.¹

     Theobald Denn married Elizabeth (?) circa 1684.¹
     He lived at Grenan, County Kilkenny, Ireland.¹

     Sir Walter Butler, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1678.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Butler, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth (?).¹ He married, firstly, Lucy Butler, daughter of Walter Butler and Mary Plunkett, in April 1697.¹ He married, secondly, unknown wife (?) before 1706.¹ He and unknown wife (?) were separated and she went to live in London.¹ He died on 8 October 1723.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered on 14 March 1723/24 at Ireland.¹
     He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Butler, of Poulstoun, co. Kilkenny [I., 1645] in 1679/80.¹ Before 1706 He was a "dissolute spendthrift and drunkard" and was "delirious and of non sane memory."¹

     Lucy Butler was the daughter of Walter Butler and Mary Plunkett.¹ She married Sir Walter Butler, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Richard Butler, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth (?), in April 1697.¹ She died in 1703.¹

     Sir Edmund Butler, 4th Bt. was born circa 1708.¹ He was the son of Sir Walter Butler, 3rd Bt. and unknown wife (?).¹ He died between September 1762 and October 1762 at Paris, France, without male issue.¹
     He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Butler, of Poulstoun, co. Kilkenny [I., 1645] on 8 October 1723.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel of Horse in the service of the French Army.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Richard Butler was the son of Sir Walter Butler, 3rd Bt. and Lucy Butler.¹ He died before 1723.¹
