Theobald Butler1

     Theobald Butler was born after 1223.1 He was the son of Theobald le Botiller and Joan du Marais.1 He married Margery de Burgh, daughter of Richard de Burgh, before 1242.2 He died in 1248.1 He was buried before 3 August 1248 at Arklow, County Limerick, IrelandG.2 An inquest post mortem was held for his on 6 July 1249.2
     He supported King Henry III against his rebellious magnates under Simon de Montfort.3

Margery de Burgh1

     Margery de Burgh was the daughter of Richard de Burgh.1 She married Theobald Butler, son of Theobald le Botiller and Joan du Marais, before 1242.1 She died after 1 March 1252/53.1
     On 27 April 1250 she made a fine to remarry.1

Theobald Butler1

     Theobald Butler was born on 22 February 1268/69.1 He was the son of Theobald Butler and Joan fitz John.1 He died on 14 May 1299 at age 30 at Turvey Manor, County Limerick, IrelandG, without issue.1 He was buried on 27 May 1299 at Wotheny Abbey, County Limerick, IrelandG.1
     In 1295 he sat in the upper house of the Irish Parliament under his name alone.2 He fought in the Scottish Wars in 1296, under King Edward I.2

     Mary Howe was the daughter of Rt. Hon. John Grubham Howe and Mary Baskerville.1,2 She married, secondly, Anthony Powell.1 She married, firstly, Sir Edmond Thomas, 2nd Bt., son of William Thomas, on 28 March 1711.1 She died on 26 April 1745.1
     Her married name became Powell.1 From 28 March 1711, her married name became Thomas.

     Sir Walter Butler, 1st Bt. was the son of Edmund Butler and Ellice Shortall.1 He married Hon. Elizabeth Butler, daughter of Richard Butler, 3rd Viscount Mountgarret and Margaret O'Neill.2 He died circa May 1650 at Polestown, County Kilkenny, IrelandG.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Butler, of Poulstoun, co. Kilkenny [Ireland] on 8 July 1645.1 He held the office of Governor of Kilkenny on 28 March 1650, when it surrendered to Cromwell.2
