Theobald Butler was born circa 1200.1 He was the son of Theobald fitz Walter and Maud le Vavasour.1 He married, firstly, Joan du Marais, daughter of Geoffrey du Marais.1 He married, secondly, Rothese de Verdon, daughter of Nicholas de Verdon, after 4 September 1225.1 He died on 19 July 1230 at Poitou, France.1 He was buried at Abbey Arklow, Arklow, County Limerick, Ireland.1
