     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the 4th Battalion, Green Howards.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Captain in the Royal Flying Corps.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Captain in the Royal Air Force.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Gisborough, of Cleveland, co. York [U.K., 1917] on 23 January 1938.1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

Cynthia Frances Charlotte Chaloner, daughter of Richard Godolphin Walmesley Chaloner, 1st Baron Gisborough and Margaret Brocklesby Davis, on 28 September 1921 at Guisborough Parish Church, Guisborough, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He died in 1959.2
     He gained the rank of Major in the Durham Light Infantry.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1
