     Lilian Louisa Newman was born on 14 August 1866.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Holdsworth Newman and Elizabeth Laura Smith.1,2 She married James Fortescue Crichton-Stuart, son of Herbert Crichton-Stuart and Fanny Adelaide Labouchere, on 29 September 1894.1 She died on 27 April 1950 at age 83.1
      From 29 September 1894, her married name became Crichton-Stuart.1
