John Stewart of Ardmaleish was the son of Sir James Stewart of Ardmaleish and Marion Fairlie.1 He married, firstly, Mary Campbell, daughter of John Campbell of Skipnish, before 1590.1 He married, secondly, Fynegella of Finevole Nik Donald MacDonald, daughter of Sir James MacDonald of Duniveg, Islay and Glenns, circa 23 January 1590.1 He married, thirdly, Jean Blair, daughter of John Blair of that Ilk, circa 15 September 1595.1 He died circa 10 October 1612.1
