     Henry Erskine, Lord Cardross was born on 22 October 1812.1 He was the son of Henry David Erskine, 12th Earl of Buchan and Elizabeth Cole Shipley.1 He married Jane Halliday Torrie, daughter of Archibald Torrie, on 15 May 1832.1 He died on 21 December 1836 at age 24.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered in February 1839.2
     Henry Erskine, Lord Cardross was styled as Lord Cardross between 1829 and 1836.1

     Jane Halliday Torrie was the daughter of Archibald Torrie.1 She married Henry Erskine, Lord Cardross, son of Henry David Erskine, 12th Earl of Buchan and Elizabeth Cole Shipley, on 15 May 1832.1 She died on 11 September 1886 at 9 Denmark Terrace, Brighton, Sussex, England.2 Her will was probated on 21 September 1886, at £1,015.2
     From 15 May 1832, her married name became Erskine.

     She inherited the Dryburgh Abbey estate, Berwickshire, and the Holmes estate, Roxburghshire.1
