     He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was decorated with the award of the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.).1

     William Fraser of Fraserfield was born on 19 November 1691.2 He was the son of William Fraser, 12th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy and Margaret Sharp.2,3 He married Lady Katherine Anne Erskine, daughter of David Erskine, 9th Earl of Buchan and Frances Fairfax, on 25 October 1724.2 He died on 23 March 1727 at age 35.2
     He lived Fraserfield.2

Margaret Fraser1

     Margaret Fraser was the daughter of William Fraser of Fraserfield and Rachel Kennedy.2,3 She married David Steuart Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan, son of Henry David Erskine, 10th Earl of Buchan and Agnes Steuart, on 15 October 1771 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.4 She died on 12 May 1819 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, without issue.5
     As a result of her marriage, Margaret Fraser was styled as Countess of Buchan on 15 October 1771. From 15 October 1771, her married name became Erskine.
