John St. Clair Arbuthnott was born on 27 August 1898.1 He was the son of Donald Stuart Arbuthnott and Anne Elizabeth Brand.1 He married, firstly, Constance Clare Fairlie, daughter of Frank Fairlie, on 30 May 1932.1 He married, secondly, Catherine Wellborn Morgan, daughter of Thomas Redman Morgan, on 14 March 1967.1 He died in July 1993 at age 94 at Eastbourne, Sussex, England.2
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force.1

     John Scott, 2nd Earl of Eldon was born on 10 December 1805.2 He was the son of Hon. John Scott and Henrietta Elizabeth Ridley.2 He married Hon. Louisa Duncombe, daughter of Charles Duncombe, 1st Baron Feversham of Duncombe Park and Lady Charlotte Legge, on 1 October 1831.2 He died on 18 September 1854 at age 48.2
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Truro between 1829 and 1832.2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1834.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Eldon, co. Durham [U.K., 1821] on 13 January 1838.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Encombe, of Encombe, co. Dorset [U.K., 1821] on 13 January 1838.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Eldon, of Eldon, co.
