Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Forrester Cochrane1

     Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Forrester Cochrane was born on 22 April 1758.1 He was the son of Thomas Cochrane, 8th Earl of Dundonald and Jane Stuart.1 He married Maria Shaw, daughter of David Shaw, in April 1788.1 He died on 29 June 1832 at age 74.1 He was also reported to have died on 26 June 1832 at Paris, France.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.).1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).3

Jane Cochrane1

     Jane Cochrane was the daughter of Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Forrester Cochrane and Maria Shaw.2 She married Admiral Sir Henry William Bruce, son of Rev. Sir Henry Hervey Aston Bruce, 1st Bt. and Letitia Barnard, on 9 February 1822.1 She died on 22 June 1830.1 She was buried at St. Andrew Graveyard, North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland.3
      From 9 February 1822, her married name became Bruce.
