Lt.-Col. Henry Stewart Beresford Bruce was born in 1824.2 He was the son of Admiral Sir Henry William Bruce and Jane Cochrane.2 He married, firstly, Marriette Hill, daughter of John Hill, in 1846.2 He married, secondly, Frances Jane Augusta Hill, daughter of John Hill, in October 1894.3 He died on 17 May 1908.3
