     Jean Broun is the daughter of Robert Broun and Margaret Bannatyne.1,2 She married Charles Broun on 29 March 1705.1,2
     She inherited the estate of Colstoun from her uncle, Sir George Broun, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir George Broun of Thornidykes, 3rd Bt. was born on 26 May 1679.2 He was the son of Alexander Broun and Catharine Swinton.1 He married Janet Spottiswoode, daughter of Alexander Spottiswoode and Helen Trotter, on 22 August 1706.1,2 He died on 15 August 1734 at age 55, without issue.1,2
     Sir George Broun of Thornidykes, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] in 1718.1
