     John Trotter, 2nd of Mortonhall was baptised on 29 July 1599 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of John Trotter, 1st of Mortonhall and Janet MacMath.3 He married Janet Morrison, daughter of Henry Morrison.3 He died in 1651.3
     He lived at Mortonhall, ScotlandG.4 In 1645 he was a royalist, and hence fined £500 by Parliament.3 He also had six other daughters.3

     Archibald Broun is the son of Alexander Broun and Catharine Swinton.1 He married unknown Trotter.1
     In 1715 he raised a troop of horse for the Chevalier in the Jacobite rising.1

     Sir Alexander Broun of Bassendean, 4th Bt. was the son of Alexander Broun and Catharine Swinton.1 He married Beatrix Swinton, daughter of Sir Alexander Swinton, Lord Mersington, on 3 November 1706.1,2 He died in 1750.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] in 1734.1

     Sir Alexander Broun of Bassingdean, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Broun of Bassendean, 4th Bt. and Beatrix Swinton.1 He married Mally Colquhoun, daughter of Adam Colquhoun, in 1755.1 He died in 1776, without male issue.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] in 1750.1
     On his death, his baronetcy became dormant for over 50 years.1
