John Somers, 1st Baron Somers of Evesham gained the title of 1st Baron Somers of Evesham. He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1680 and 1692.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Worcester between 1689 and 1693.4 He held the office of Attorney-General from 1692 to 1693.4 He held the office of Lord Chancellor between 1697 and 1700.4 He held the office of Lord President of the Council between 1708 and 1710.4
