     Lady Philippa Sydney was the daughter of Robert Sydney, 1st Earl of Leicester and Barbara Gamage.1 She married Sir John Hobart, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Henry Hobart, 1st Bt. and Dorothy Bell.1 She died on 24 September 1620 at London, England.1 She was buried on 5 October 1620 at Blickling, Norfolk, England.1
      Her married name became Hobart.

     Robert Sydney, 1st Earl of Leicester was born on 19 November 1563.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Sydney and Lady Mary Dudley.2 He married, firstly, Barbara Gamage, daughter of John Gamage, on 23 September 1584.3 He married, secondly, Sarah Blount, daughter of William Blount, on 25 April 1625.3 He died on 13 July 1626 at age 62.3
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Glamorgan between 1584 and 1586.3 He was invested as a Knight in 1586.3 He held the office of Governor of Flushing, Low Countries between 1588 and 1616.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Glamorgan in 1593.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kent from 1597 to 1598.3 He was created 1st Baron Sydney of Penshurst, co. Kent [England] on 13 May 1603.2 He was created 1st Viscount L'Isle [England] on 4 May 1605.2 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1616.2 He was created 1st Earl of Leicester [England] on 2 August 1618.2

     Barbara Gamage was the daughter of John Gamage.1 She married Robert Sydney, 1st Earl of Leicester, son of Sir Henry Sydney and Lady Mary Dudley, on 23 September 1584.3 She died in May 1621.3
      From 23 September 1584, her married name became Sydney.

     Sir Miles Hobart was born on 12 April 1595.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Hobart, 1st Bt. and Dorothy Bell.1 He married Frances Peyton, daughter of Sir John Peyton, 1st Bt. and Alice Osborne.1 He died circa December 1639.1 He was buried on 6 December 1639.2
     He was invested as a Knight on 1 February 1625/26.2 He lived at Plumstead, Norfolk, England.2

     Philippa Hobart was baptised on 12 October 1635 at Blickling, Norfolk, England.1 She was the daughter of Sir John Hobart, 2nd Bt. and Lady Frances Egerton.1 She married Sir John Hobart, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Miles Hobart and Frances Peyton.2 She died circa January 1654/55.1 She was buried on 19 January 1654/55.2 She died intestate and her estate was administered on 25 January 1654/55 at St. Paul's Church, Covent Gardens, London, England.1

     Mary Hampden was baptised on 1 May 1630 at Great Hampden, Buckinghamshire, England.1 She was the daughter of John Hampden and Elizabeth Simeon.1 She married, firstly, Colonel Robert Hammond before 1654.1 She married, secondly, Sir John Hobart, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Miles Hobart and Frances Peyton, in June 1656 at St. Gile's-in-the-Fields Church, London, England.1 She died before 2 May 1689.2 Her will (dated 7 January 1686) was probated on 2 May 1689.1
      From before 1654, her married name became Hammond.1 From June 1656, her married name became Hobart.1
