     William Monsell was born in 1778.1 He was the son of William Thomas Monsell and Hannah Strettel.1 He married Olivia Johnson-Walsh, daughter of Sir John Allen Johnson-Walsh, 1st Bt. and Sackvilla Brereton, in 1810.1 He died in 1822.1

     Olivia Johnson-Walsh is the daughter of Sir John Allen Johnson-Walsh, 1st Bt. and Sackvilla Brereton.1,2 She married William Monsell, son of William Thomas Monsell and Hannah Strettel, in 1810.1 A settlement for the marriage between her and John Cromie was made on 30 April 1833.3
     From 1810, her married name became Monsell.1 From 30 April 1833, her married name became Cromie.3

     William Monsell, 1st Baron Emly was born on 21 September 1812.1 He was the son of William Monsell and Olivia Johnson-Walsh.1 He married, firstly, Lady Anna Maria Charlotte Wyndham-Quin, daughter of Windham Henry Wyndham-Quin, 2nd Earl of Dunraven and Mount-Earl and Caroline Wyndham, on 11 August 1836.1 He married, secondly, Berthe de Montigny Boulainvilliers, daughter of Comte Philippe Auguste de Montigny Boulainvilliers, on 23 February 1857.1 He died on 20 April 1894 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Limerick in 1835.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Limerick between 1847 and 1874.1 He held the office of Clerk of the Ordnance between 1852 and 1857.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1855.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary for the Colonies between 1868 and 1871.1 He held the office of Postmaster-General between 1871 and 1873.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Limerick between 1871 and 1894.1 He was created 1st Baron Emly, of Tervoe, co.      Anne Burgh is the daughter of Reverend Richard Burgh and Elizabeth Griffin.2,3 She married William Monsell, son of Samuel Monsell and unknown Webb, on 16 April 1722.2 She was also reported to have been married in 1731.1
