George Brereton was the son of William Brereton.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Armstrong, daughter of Archibald Armstrong, in 1711.1 He and Elizabeth Brereton obtained a marriage license on 23 April 1731.1 A settlement for the marriage between him and Elizabeth Brereton was made on 24 April 1731.1 He died in 1733.1
On 12 November 1714 he obtained the lease of part of Rathmore and Gurtfally, Hill of Scahanagh, King's County from Henry Westenra.1 He lived at Rathmore, County Offaly, Ireland.1
