Reverend William Barlow was born on 4 December 1788.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Robert Barlow and Elizabeth Garrett.1 He married, firstly, Louisa Adeane, daughter of Robert Jones Adeane and Annabella Blake.1 He married, secondly, Anne Hotham, daughter of Reverend Frederick Hotham and Anne Elizabeth Hodges, on 27 July 1846.1 He died on 8 December 1848 at age 60.1
