     Oliver Richard Backhouse was born on 18 July 1941.1 He was the son of Major Sir John Edmund Backhouse, 3rd Bt. and Jean Marie Frances Hume-Gore.1 He married Gillian Irene Lincoln, daughter of L. W. Lincoln, on 14 December 1970.1 He died on 10 December 2004 at age 63, suddenly.2
     Oliver Richard Backhouse adopted William Backhouse. He adopted Emma Backhouse. He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.).1 He lived in 2003 at 141 Quickley Lane, Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, England.1
