     Anne Ashley was the daughter of Sir Anthony Ashley, 1st and last Bt. and Jane Okeover.1 She married Sir John Cooper, 1st Bt., son of Sir John Cooper and Martha Skutt.1 She died on 20 July 1628.1
     Her married name became Cooper.1

     Sir John Cooper, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir John Cooper and Martha Skutt.2 He married, firstly, Anne Ashley, daughter of Sir Anthony Ashley, 1st and last Bt. and Jane Okeover.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Mary Hicks, daughter of Baptist Hicks, 1st Viscount Campden and Elizabeth May.2 He died on 23 March 1630/31.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Cooper, of Rockbourne, Hampshire [England] on 4 July 1622.2

     He was educated at Bedford College, Bedford, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1959 in the Royal Marines.1 He was First Secretary, British Mission to the U.N. Geneva between 1971 and 1976.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Yeovil between 1983 and 1988.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
