     Colonel Henry David Makgill Crichton Maitland was the son of Commander Coventry Makgill Crichton Maitland.1 He married Barbara Ellen Armytage, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir George Ayscough Armytage, 7th Bt. and Aimée Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington, on 3 June 1930.1 He died in 1970.1
     Colonel Henry David Makgill Crichton Maitland was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.1
