     Theophilia Newton was the daughter of Sir John Newton and Margaret Poyntz.1 She married, firstly, William Somerset, 3rd Earl of Worcester, son of Henry Somerset, 2nd Earl of Worcester and Elizabeth Browne, after 1564.1 She married, secondly, William Paratt after 1589.1
     After her marriage, Theophilia Newton was styled as Countess of Worcester after 1564. From after 1564, her married name became Somerset.1 From after 1589, her married name became Paratt.1
