     Bernhard III Friedrich Wilhelm Albert Georg Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen was born on 1 April 1851 at Meiningen, Thüringen, Germany.1 He was the son of Georg II Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen and Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Marianne Charlotte Prinzessin von Preußen.1 He married Viktoria Elisabeth Auguste Charlotte Prinzessin von Preußen, daughter of Friedrich III, Deutscher Kaiser, König von Preußen and Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess Royal of the United Kingdom, on 18 February 1878.1 He died on 16 January 1928 at age 76 at Meiningen, Thüringen, Germany.1
     He gained the title of Herzog Bernhard III von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen (styled as HH Reigining Duke of Saxe-Meiningen und Hildburghausen) on 25 June 1914.1 He abdicated as Duke of Saxe-Meiningen und Hilldburghausen on 10 November 1918.1

     Georg II Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen was born on 2 April 1826 at Meiningen, Thüringen, Germany.1 He was the son of Bernhard II Erich Freud Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen and Marie Friederike Wilhelmine Prinzessin von Hessen-Kassel.1 He married, firstly, Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Marianne Charlotte Prinzessin von Preußen, daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Albrecht Prinz von Preußen and Marianne von Nassau, Princess of the Netherlands, on 18 May 1850 at Berlin-Charlottenburg, Brandenburg, Germany.1 He married, secondly, Feodore Viktorie Adelheid Prinzessin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, daughter of Ernst Christian Carl IV Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Anna Feodorovna Auguste Charlotte Wilhelmine Prinzessin zu Leiningen, on 23 October 1858 at Langenburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1 He married, secondly, Helene Franz, daughter of Hermann Franz, on 18 March 1872 at Liebenstein in a morganatic marriage.2 He was also reported to have been married on 18 November 1850 at Berlin-Charlottenburg, Brandenburg, Germany. He died on 25 June 1914 at age 88 at Wildungen, Germany.1
     He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Hildburghausen on 12 November 1826. He gained the title of Herzog Georg II von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen (styled as HH Reigning Duke George II of Saxe-Meiningen and Hildburghausen) on 3 December 1882.1

He was the son of Julius Prinz zur Lippe and Adelheid zu Castell-Castell.1 He married Gisela Berta Adelheid Klothilde Emma Klementine Gräfin zu Ysenburg und Büdingen in Meerholz, daughter of Karl Graf zu Ysenburg und Büdingen, in 1895. He died in 1914, killed in action.1
     He was given the name of Friedrich Wilhelm Franz Julius Ludwig Kalixt at birth.2 He fought in the First World War.
