     Sir John Erasmus Gwynne Alexander Philipps, 3rd Bt. was born on 11 September 1915.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry Erasmus Edward Philipps, 2nd Bt. and Victoria Gladys Elizabeth Gwynne-Hughes.¹ He died on 27 November 1948 at age 33, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Philipps, of Picton Castle, co. Pembroke [U.K., 1887] on 23 May 1938.¹ He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Pembrokeshire in 1942.¹

     Sarah Sparks married Thomas Tickell, son of John Tickell and Esther Pierson, on 18 November 1771.¹
