     Sir Hervey Elwes, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1683.1 He was the son of Gervase Elwes and Isabella Hervey.1 He died on 18 September 1763, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury between 1706 and 1710.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Elwes [E., 1660] on 11 April 1706. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sudbury between 1713 and 1722.1

     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westminster in 1661.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Essex between 1670 and 1680.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Everard [E., 1629] in June 1680.
