     Jacob van Zuylen van Nijevelt was born on 17 January 1739 at Rotterdam, The Netherlands.1 He was the son of Dr. Jacob Zuylen van Nijevelt and Aletta Johanna Timmers.1 He married Adriana Maria Cornets de Groot, daughter of Hugo Cornets de Groot Heer van Noord-Nieuwland and Jacoba Elisabeth Noortheij, on 8 August 1770 at Rotterdam, The Netherlands.1 He died on 10 March 1805 at age 66 at Rotterdam, The Netherlands.1
     He held the office of Governor of Rotterdam between 1766 and 1805.1
