Roald ‘Le Strange' (?)1

     Roald ‘Le Strange' (?) married Maud de Hunstanton, daughter of Ralph fitz Herlewin, in 1158.1
     He also held land in Hunstanton, Norfolk.1 It is not certain that his family were actually of Breton origin.1 Before 1122 he testified to a charter and was a tenant of Alan fitz Fleald.1 He lived at Mileham, Norfolk, England.1

John (I) Lestrange1

     John (I) Lestrange was the son of Roald ‘Le Strange' (?) and Maud de Hunstanton.2 He married Hawise (?)1 He died in 1178, by Michaelmas.1
     In 1158 he was granted land by King Henry II in Ness, Shropshire.1 From 1168 to 1169 he was granted land in Staffordshire.1

     John (II) Lestrange was the son of John (I) Lestrange and Hawise (?)2 He married Amice (?)1 He died before 20 January 1233/34.1
     In 1196/97 he had dealings with his female cousins (Guy's daughters) over land at Knockin, Shropshire.1 Between 1204 and 1214 negotiator on behalf of King John with Llywelyn the Great, Prince of North Wales.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1216.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire in 1216.1 In 1216 he was granted the manor of Kidderminster.1

John (III) Lestrange1

     John (III) Lestrange was the son of John (II) Lestrange and Amice (?)2 He married Lucy Tregoz, daughter of Robert Tregoz.1 He died before 26 March 1269.1
     He supported King Henry III against Simon De Montfort.1 In 1213 he was old enough to attend on King John.1 In 1214 he undertake military service against the French.1 On 25 May 1231 he was granted by King Henry III the manor of Wrockwardine, Shropshire.1 In 1232 he played a part in negotiations between King Henry III and Prince Llywelyn the Great.1 He held the office of Constable of Bridgnorth, Chester and Shrewsbury Castles between 1233 and 1240.1 He held the office of Constable of Montgomery Castle in 1235.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire and Staffordshire between 1236 and 1248.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Cheshire from 1241 to 1242.1 He held the office of Justice of Cheshire in 1240/41.1
