     Sir William Lockhart, 11th of the Lee was born in 1621.1 He was the son of James Lockhart, 10th of the Lee and Martha Douglas.3 He married, firstly, Margaret Hamilton, daughter of Sir John Hamilton, 5th of Orbiston and Bethia Henderson.1 He married, secondly, Robina Sewster, daughter of John Sewster and Anne Cromwell.4 He died on 20 March 1675/76.1,2
     He was appointed Knight in 1643.1 He held the office of Governor of Dunkirk.1 He held the office of Ambassador to France.4 He lived at Lee, ScotlandG.4 He held the office of Lord Justice Clerk in 1674.1
