Sir James Dunbar of Mochrum, 1st Bt.1

     Sir James Dunbar of Mochrum, 1st Bt. was the son of Thomas Dunbar of Mochrum and Christian Ross.2 He married, secondly, Jane Kennedy, daughter of unknown Kennedy of Minuchen.2 He married, firstly, Isobel Nicolson, daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 2nd Bt. and Lady Margaret Livingstone, on 11 February 1679.2 He died in 1718.2
     On 1 June 1677 had charter of the lands and territorial Barony of Mochrum.2 He was created 1st Baronet Dunbar, of Mochrum, co. Wigtown [Nova Scotia] on 29 March 1694.2

     Elizabeth Dunbar was the daughter of William Dunbar.1 She married Andrew Agnew, son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Andrew Agnew of Lochnaw, 5th Bt. and Eleanora Agnew, on 29 August 1750.1
