     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of the Shropshire County Council.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shrewsbury between 1913 and 1922.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shrewsbury.1 He lived at Shelton Hall, Shropshire, England.1
