Sir James King, 1st Bt. was born on 13 July 1830.2 He was the son of John King and Christina Macnie.2 He married Marian Westall, daughter of William Westall, on 20 August 1861.2 He died on 1 October 1911 at age 81.2
He held the office of Dean of Guild, Glasgow between 1874 and 1876.2 He was director and chairman of Clydesdale Bank.2 He was Dean of Faculties between 1879 and 1882 at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 He held the office of Lord Provost of Glasgow between 1886 and 1889.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1887.2 He was Assessor to the Chancellor between 1887 and 1903 at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 He was director of Caledonian Railway.2 He was created 1st Baronet King, of Campsie, co. Charles Macintosh King was born on 5 May 1836.1 He was the son of John King and Christina Macnie.2 He married Jane Margaret Buchanan, daughter of Andrew Buchanan, on 6 June 1867.1 He died on 11 February 1920 at age 83.1
