     René II de Vaudémont, Duc de Lorraine was born on 2 May 1451 at Angers, France.2 He was the son of Frederic VI de Vaudémont, Comte de Vaudémont and Yolande d'Anjou.1 He married, firstly, Jeanne d'Harcourt in 1471. He and Jeanne d'Harcourt were divorced in 1485. He married, secondly, Philippa van Egmond-Gelre, daughter of Adolf van Egmond Hertog van Gelre Graaf van Zutphen and Catherine de Bourbon, on 1 September 1485 at Orleans, France.2 He died on 10 December 1508 at age 57.
     He succeeded as the Comte de Vaudémont. He succeeded as the Duc de Lorraine in 1473.1

     Adolf van Egmond Hertog van Gelre Graaf van Zutphen was born on 12 February 1438 at Grave, The Netherlands.1 He was the son of Arnold van Egmond Hertog van Gelre Graaf van Zutphen and Katrina von der Mark-Kleve. He married Catherine de Bourbon, daughter of Charles I de Bourbon, Duc de Bourbon and Agnes de Bourgogne, on 18 February 1463. He died on 24 June 1477 at age 39 at Tournai, Belgium.1
     In 1465 he imprisoned his father.1 In 1471 Duke Charles of Burgundy reinstated his father and imprisoned him instead.1

He married Marie d'Harcourt, dame d'Elbeuf, de Mayenne, de Lillebonne, d'Aarschot, de Brionne et de La Saussaye, daughter of Comte Jean VII d'Harcourt, comte d'Aumale, vicomte de Châtellerault, seigneur d'Elbeuf, de Brionne, de Lillebonne, de Cailleville, d'Aarschot, d'Auvers et de La Saussaye and Marie d'Alençon, on 12 August 1416.1 He died on 22 March 1458.1
     He gained the title of Comte de Vaudémont. He gained the title of Sire de Joinville.
