     Captain Philip Picot was born in 1889 at Kensington, London, England.2 He was the son of Major Francis Slater Picot and Ada Melvill Simons.2 He married Marjorie Putnam, daughter of Sir Captain Thomas Putnam and Minnie Newman, on 29 November 1912 at St. Jude's, West Kensington, London, England.1,2 He died on 11 July 1915 at Gallipoli, Turkey, killed in action.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 14th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters.2 He fought in the First World War.2
