     Colonel Hugh Scott, 7th of Gala was born in 1764.2 He was the son of John Scott, 6th of Gala and Anne Hay-Makdougall.2 He married Isabella Monro, daughter of Professor Alexander Monro of Craiglockart, on 13 March 1787.2 He died on 4 October 1795 at GrenadaG, on active service in an insurrection.2
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 26th (Cameronian) Regiment.2

     Barbara Makdougall is the daughter of Henry Makdougall, 14th of Makerstoun and Anne Scott.1 She married, firstly, William Livingstone, 3rd Viscount Kilsyth, son of James Livingstone, 1st Viscount Kilsyth and Euphemia Cuningham.2 She married Sir George Hay-Makdougall of Alderston, 3rd Bt., son of Sir John Hay of Alderston, 1st Bt. and Catherine Suttie.3
     Her married name became Livingstone.2 Her married name became Hay-Makdougall.1

     Maria Giorgiana Dorothea Scott-Makdougall of Makerstoun was born in 1804.1 She was the daughter of Colonel John Scott and Isabella Monro.2 She died on 14 May 1890, unmarried.1
     She was given the name of Maria Giogiana Dorothea Scott at birth.1 In 1864 she inherited Makerstoun.1 In 1864 her name was legally changed to Maria Giogiana Dorothea Scott-Makdougall of Makerstoun.1
